Food for Woofers at the sunday school

Friday February 14, 2025

I arrive this afternoon from Curaçao in Port of Spain on Trinidad. The formalities were intense and, above all, painfully slow in both Curaçao and Trinidad, but we succeeded. Port of Spain is primarily a large city, but with the upcoming Carnival on the horizon, preparations are already underway. There are already many tents and stands in Queen’s Park and the competition for the best bands is already in full swing. On the west side of the park are also the old stately buildings, such as White Hall and Stollmeyer’s Castle. Also striking is the modern building of the National Academy for the Performing Arts, with its curved roofs. I take the ferry to Tobago and enter a different world. The owner of my accommodation warns of possible noise pollution from the Sunday school. I think this will be okay. But it turns out to be a kind of Food for Woofer festival until late at night. This is luckily only on Sundays. Furthermore, a beautiful island with white beaches and light blue sea. Relaxed and super beautiful. Mt Irvine Bay turns out to be a top snorkeling location, where the coral already starts a few meters from the coast. Wonderful.
